Flash Flood and Severe Storm Warnings - Sunday, April 16

Two rounds of severe storms are expected, the first between 2pm and 4pm, and the second between 7pm and 8:30pm.

For the first, gusty winds to 50 mph are likely, with torrential downpours. Small hail is possible. Total rainfall of 2-3 inches is likely; localized amounts of 4 inches possible.

For the second, gusty winds of 60-65 mph are likely, with a tornado possible. Heavy to torrential rainfall is expected, with additional rain totals of around 2 inches; localized amounts of 3 inches possible.

For the flash flood threat, beware of flooded roadways - if you see pooled or flowing water on the road, turn around and don't try to pass through. One foot of flowing water will wash away most cars. Be especially careful at night, and only venture out if absolutely needed.

For the severe storm threat, scattered power outages are likely due to the high winds. Loose objects could become projectiles and cause injury. Monitor the forecast for potential tornado warnings in the second round of storms.
